2026 Discovery FAQs

The Architecture of Versatility

The 2026 Discovery is defined by its “Naturally Curious” spirit and its ability to adapt to the technical demands of a modern family. To ensure an Effortless research process for our Grand Rapids clients, we have compiled the most frequent technical inquiries regarding the Discovery’s interior architecture and safety systems.

Seating & Interior Dimensions

What is the seating capacity of the 2026 Discovery?

The 2026 Discovery features seven full-size seats as standard equipment. Unlike many luxury SUVs that offer “jump seats” for the third row, the Discovery is engineered with stadium-style seating to accommodate seven adults comfortably. The stepped roofline is a functional design element that ensures ample headroom even for passengers in the third row.

How does the Intelligent Seat Fold technology work?

Available on the Gemini and Tempest editions, Intelligent Seat Fold allows you to reconfigure the second and third-row seats via the Pivi Pro touchscreen, switches in the cargo area, or remotely via the Land Rover Remote app. This system uses high-torque electric motors to fold or upright the seats in seconds, facilitating rapid transitions between passenger and cargo modes.

2026 Discovery Interior Technical Specs

Dimension Specification (Inches/Cu. Ft.)
Max Cargo Volume (Seats Folded) 74.3 cu. ft.

Cargo & Practicality

What is the maximum cargo capacity?

When both the second and third rows are stowed, the 2026 Discovery provides a maximum cargo volume of 74.3 cubic feet. The loadspace is designed with a flat floor to simplify the transport of large equipment or luggage for extended Michigan expeditions.

Does it feature a powered tailgate?

Yes, a Powered Tailgate is standard. Furthermore, the available Powered Inner Tailgate serves a dual technical purpose: it acts as a load retainer when the main tailgate is open and can be lowered to serve as a bench that supports up to 661 lbs, ideal for “Inspirational” outdoor gatherings.

Safety & Driver Assistance

What safety technologies are standard for 2026?

The Discovery utilizes a suite of “Future-Facing” sensors to protect its occupants. Standard technical features include:

  • 3D Surround Camera: Provides a virtual 360° overhead view of the vehicle.
  • ClearSight Ground View: Uses cameras in the front grille and door mirrors to “see through” the hood, displaying the terrain directly beneath the front axle—essential for navigating technical obstacles.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist: Monitors lane markings and the vehicle ahead to maintain a central position and safe following distance.
